Santee Magic Jasmine Ray fled from her home and family after she had a fight with her fiance in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She drove south on Interstate 95 and when she came to the small town of Santee, South Carolina, she exited the Interstate and registered at a luxury hotel by the name of Nightingale Hotel located on Lake Marion. The first night as she was dining in the Chateau Restaurant that was famous for its cuisine on the first floor of the hotel, she became aware of a man seated at the bar and was watching her. And when she looked into the eyes of Lee hampton, the most eligible bachelor in the area, and was registered at the hotel, it was love at first sight. Lee lost his heart to Jasmine as they became lovers and he planned to ask her to be his wife. On Monday he left for Columbia and was to return on Thursday. They talked on the telephone, making plans for their future. Unknown to Jasmine, she was being stalked by a strange man that the hotel security was watching. Lee cautioned her to beware when he left her. The hotel had employed a man that was staying in the suite next to her for extra security. Sometime after midnight on Wednesday, Jasmine disappeared and no one knew what had happened to her. Michelle Canty, owner of the hotel, whose nickname was Midge, had become good friends with Charles Dupree owner of the Chateau Restaurant. For three years he had been in love with Midge, but she had her doubts about the Frenchman. But Charles was not going to let Midge, who he called he cheri, get away and finally broke down her resistance to him one night when they spent it together in each others arms. Midge realized after a night of unbelievable passion that Charles was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and they made plans to wed. When Jasmine disappeared in the midst of their wedding plans, they devised a plan to solve the mystery of her disappearance. Lee led a search party among the secluded coves on the lake in vain for some clue as to where the kidnapper had taken her. Her parents arrived at the hotel to wait news of their daughter. The Nightingale Hotel would never forget this terrible time as they waited for some word of the beautiful woman they had taken to their heart. She and Lee had met here and fell in love and the hotel would host their wedding when and if she returned.. Santee was a place where dreams came true and where Jasmine found peace for her troubled soul. When the Legend of the Land heard her cry, she was returned to Lee and the Nightingale Hotel. They stood with Charles and Midge when they were married in the Little Chapel on the lake. Jasmine and Lee were married in the Nightingale Hotel with their family and friends around them.
